Bruisyard Hall is a family-run business full of energy and devotion to our guests. We want to make sure everyone who comes here has a wonderful experience and falls in love with this beautiful and historic country house.

When Teresa and Robert Rous inherited Bruisyard Hall from Robert’s father in the mid-80s, they had a shared love of the fascinating history of this former nunnery, farm and stately home, and a great desire to return it to its former glory. Now they want people to come and enjoy the splendour of this property for many years to come.

“This house loves people, and people love this house. It’s a very happy place, steeped in history and we only have single groups in at any time. We really want visitors to feel at home here, in this unique setting from a different age.”

Gareth's love for hospitality started at an early age where he has worked across several sectors from restaurants, events and hotels.

Bruisyard Country Estate gives Gareth the opportunity to do what he loves best- ensure that a couples wedding is the most memorable day of their lives. "It's impossible to be more rewarded than seeing a couple's smile on the day of their wedding.


Katie Whittaker

Events Manager

Katie joined the Bruisyard Hall events team in November 2017. With several years experience in the wedding and events industry across Suffolk, her passion and dedication for event planning shines through in her work.

Always approachable and enthusiastic, Katie will never hesitate to go the extra mile to ensure a couple’s wedding journey - from first viewing to the big day itself - is the complete stress free experience at The Bruisyard Country Estate.


Laura gell

Events Manager

Laura has been here since the beginning - and was the first Bruisyard employee after renovations were completed! Laura has over 10 years experience in hospitality and events management and has organised weddings as well as the other events at The Bruisyard Country Estate including balls, private parties, charity galas, conferences, retreats, Christmas parties and more.

Her attention to detail, organised and flexible approach has helped to create so many happy memories for couples who have married here.

Head Chef

Richard has over 20 years experience in the catering industry working as head chef in 2/3 rosette restaurants across the country. He has a real passion for local, seasonal produce and a keen eye for detail.

Richard joined the team in 2018 and is excited about working with our guests and creating dishes and menus for their special day.



Events Manager

Bethany has always had a passion for weddings and events, and will do anything and everything to ensure a couple has the happiest day of their lives. She joined us in May 2018 with over three years experience in events management.  

Her organised and friendly approach, along with her eye for detail, compliments her experience to ensure events run as smoothly as possible.
