Bruisyard Hall is a family-run business full of energy and devotion to our guests. We want to make sure everyone who comes here has a wonderful experience and falls in love with this beautiful and historic country house. 

robert & Teresa Rous

When Teresa and Robert Rous inherited Bruisyard Hall from Robert’s father in the mid-80s, they had a shared love of the fascinating history of this former nunnery, farm and stately home, and a great desire to return it to its former glory. Now they want people to come and enjoy the splendour of this property for many years to come.

“This house loves people, and people love this house. It’s a very happy place, steeped in history and we only have single groups in at any time. We really want visitors to feel at home here, in this unique setting from a different age.”

General Manager

Alan joined to lead the team in 2017, he's focused on making sure the high standards that Bruisyard has become well known for are maintained as the business continues to grow.

With over 30 years’ hospitality experience, beginning just up the A14 in Newmarket, Alan has held various management roles taking him across the UK, the US and Japan.

Alan has a flair for events and an eye for detail. He makes sure that all our customers receive a great service and that every event run at Bruisyard Hall is one we can be proud of.

Rhea Harrison


Events Manager

With over 7 years experience Rhéa started her events career in Dubai running a wide range of events, from conferences to concerts. Moving back to the UK in 2012 her love of events lead her to London where she managed a variety of events all around Europe. 

Rhéa has been part of the team at Bruisyard Hall since June 2017. 

She has a passion for weddings and a warm and friendly manner that makes couples feel relaxed and reassured that we'll do them proud on their big day!

Head Chef

Lee loves cooking great, fresh, seasonal food for the biggest day of someone's life. Lee has been at Bruisyard since 2013. He loves the buzz of helping the dedicated team to make the day the best possible experience. When prepping for a big day Lee can often be heard singing along to various tunes in the kitchen!

He says: “I love the diversity of the food requested for the different weddings and events – it’s not unusual to cover a variety of different cuisines. One month I catered Nigerian, Turkish and Italian menus. It’s brilliant. I love it!”

Events Manager - (On maternity leave)

Laura has been here since the beginning - and was the first Bruisyard Hall employee after renovations were completed! Laura has organises weddings as well as the other events at Bruisyard Hall and Barn including private parties, charity galas, conferences, yoga retreats, Christmas parties and more.

Laura had her wedding reception at Bruisyard in 2015! She explains: ‘I just couldn't bring myself to go elsewhere. I have complete faith in everything we do and nowhere else lived up to expectations. It was a magical day and the team really did me proud.’

Operations Manager

Nikki spends more time at Bruisyard Hall than she does her own home. Nikki takes great pride in the appearance of Bruisyard Hall and her attention to detail ensures everything is in keeping with our 5-star rating. Nikki is a firm believer in marriage – having got married at 17 after knowing her husband for 2 months they are still madly in love 23 years later!

Nikki explains: “I really enjoy meeting different people, welcoming guests at check in and hearing about their stay on check out. I love Bruisyard Hall. I love looking after it and making sure it’s looking great and running smoothly.”
